Quote Challenge-Day 1

Thank you to angelagagz  over at Fuck MS for nominating me for the 3 day Quote Challenge. A fellow Canadian (living right next door in the province east of me) she is strong and changing the path of her life. You really should take the time to pop over and check out her blog.

I found this back in January while I was in the depths of my bout of depression. It spoke to me because even though I could not see the forest for the trees, I knew that I would not be there forever. And it is still true today.

When things get difficult I need to remember that I am not stuck there. That as long as I continue moving forward my destination will change.

Dissension

Silent dragons flare
screaming across the sky
acid iciness raining down
as all do bend
with righteous fear.
Afraid to raise one’s head
to voice opinions true
worried that the axe will fall
and corruption will still brew.
Stare ahead
brow creased with concern
fingers tapping an SOS
as the world turns to blood.
Rivers rising
fields dying
supplies deficient
as spoken promises
spiral through the air
disipating.
As a toddler whose toy is taken
screams and beats his fists
he throws himself upon the funeral pyre
without it being lit.
This horror playing upon the stage
is but a man
and not a demigod
as he does believe.
Once the world is torn asunder
no one left to degrade
sights will turn from unbeaten foes
to enemies seen at his feet.
Scouring.
Killing.
Emptying.
Glee incalculable.
Annihilating
any who dare to dissent.
