Summer Moon

Glances

meeting across the room

Smile

flitting across my lips

Head tilt

hair falling forward

a veil I hide behind.

You turn

your profile

bathed in golden sunlight

a shadow

burned into my retinas

eyes closed

I see you still.

A summer dalliance

of laughter

of lust

of desire

never meant to last

passed the final summer moon.

I am a single hard working mom in her 40's. I have always written poetry and I love words. I live with depression and its ups downs. This is a space where I can create and write all that I need to.
