Freedom

The path intertwines
in on itself
around the lake
through the mountains
under the sea
I follow
unsure where I am going
what I will find
only knowing that this path is mine.
I have opened my eyes
opened my heart
released my pain and fear
giving unto me
the freedom to be myself.
This route that I have taken
long and circuitous
filled with brambles
with thorns
flowers and hope
have made me so much stronger
so much better
so much more who I want to be.

I am a single hard working mom in her 40's. I have always written poetry and I love words. I live with depression and its ups downs. This is a space where I can create and write all that I need to.
