Sugar and Spice

everything nice

that is what girls are made of.

Hell no 

we won’t go.

Leave us our rights

our abilities.

Since the inception of time

men have stood

swinging their clubs

making women sheep.

Finally now

hear us roar

a woman’s movement on the rise.

No longer shall we be silenced

tied up

beaten into submission

our voices will rise.

Glass ceiling

shattering

shards of glass spew down

shredding those

who have stood here

using power to get their way.

Fear the night

looming shadows within

for come time

women will surge

darkness will be overcome.

Women will never ever

have to run again.
