How?

Tell me
how.
How the hell do you look the other way
no pain in your heart?
I die
small death
every day
missing you
desiring you
down on my  knees
leave me not behind.
When did I become the joke?
The raspy voiced poet
scanning the darkness
swilling tequila
deadening the pain
images unseen
diamonds collected upon lashes
you see
here I stood.
Hands outstretched
lifeline needed
turn away
why?
Explain to me
please.
What the fuck did I do?
Whispered roars
accusations
so untrue
that is what you say.
Another’s hands upon my skin
another man
looking in my eyes
thrusting inside
while I move beneath him.
So insecure
how can that be?

Time slows
honey dripping from the cone
love making
lasting til dawn’s light
make me not wait
for I shall say good-bye.
Ta-ta baby
why’d you have to go
and play with my heart?

A single hard working mom of a soon to be teenage son. A poet and story teller I have wanted to write since I was a child. This space is where I share stories about myself and my life and the creative poetry that stirs my soul. My hope is you will pull up a chair and a cup of coffee delving into the world that I offer and you find simple enjoyment for a few moments. Welcome to The Wonderful & Wacky World of One Single Mom

  1. Feel free to delete this after!

If it weren’t for you and maybe a few others I’d feel more inclined to delete this blog. There’s times where I just don’t think anyone is paying attention. I’ve gained probably 10 followers in the last couple months and none like or comment on the posts.

      1. It’s just like what I’ve said before in my posts. It’s like calling out for me. And so few answer… it gets aggravating over time.
