Mirror

Sat before a mirror
sadness etched into his face
removing the flying red wig
removing pallid white makeup
slashed red mouth
smashed red nose.
This was not the imagined glory
this was not the imagined joy
this was hard
people did not like
did not care
as they did
when he was only a nobody
on the political stage.
What goes around
it comes around again
and again
to roost
to burn
to  butcher
those who have so abused
trust
loyalty
faith
yet still
they seem so surprised.
Berobed
sitting in the darkened room
bathed in the blue t.v. light
his phone in hand
dejected for as he has learned…..
no one loves a fool.
Told he would be integral
to the running of the world
yet in truth
he is the clown
paraded before the world.
His voice meaningless
other than as absurd.
Sat before the mirror
tears painted on his face
mouth turned down
despite the outlined smile
this is what happens
when one who thinks he is great
is proven to be a crass farce
ready to destroy a nation.

This space is where I share stories about myself and my life and the creative poetry that stirs my soul. My hope is you will pull up a chair and a cup of coffee delving into the world that I offer and you find simple enjoyment for a few moments. Welcome to The Wonderful & Wacky World of One Single Mom
