Retribution

The first to disappear:
blonde
blue eyes
dimpled cheeks
all star college boy.
The second to disappear:
chestnut hair
hazel eyes
sneering lips
spoiled frat boy.
The third to disappear:
black hair
fake green eyes
thrilling voice
entitled rock star.
No one knew what to think.
No one knew what was the link.
Clues
hints
tantalizing signs
pieces of the puzzle
left behind.
Leaflets blanket the city
announcing a new
exciting
wonderful
exhibition
people began to speak
to gossip
to speculate
as to what the show would be.
As a gimmick went
this artist was brilliant
for everyone flocked to the door
awaiting the designated hour.
The gate rose
allowing entry to a darkened room
vast
echoing
lights aimed to highlight the works of art.
Cage 1:
Rapist.
Rapist without a penis.
Cage 2:
Abuser.
Abuser without fists.
Cage 3:
Murderer.
Murderer without tongue.
Explanations were found
beneath each cage
as to the crime(s) committed.
Life far fled
victims became heroes
the artist
never found.
Retribution will find the evil ones.

A single hard working mom of a soon to be teenage son. A poet and story teller I have wanted to write since I was a child. This space is where I share stories about myself and my life and the creative poetry that stirs my soul. My hope is you will pull up a chair and a cup of coffee delving into the world that I offer and you find simple enjoyment for a few moments. Welcome to The Wonderful & Wacky World of One Single Mom
