Drip

Drip.
Drip.
Drip.
Icicles from the eaves
slowly melting
around me
slowly life begins
as spring makes her entrance
and Winter makes his exit.
Trapped
left here with all the others
wondering when I will find release
today
tomorrow
sometime soon
please
I cannot take it here anymore.
Painting at 10.
Crafting at 1.
Discussion at 4.
Than supper
in your room
lights out.
Cracking knuckles
licking lips
disinterested in what is occurring around me
all I care for
is to be rescued from this place.
Each day
count the hours
mark chalk strips on the wall
waiting for a reprieve
waiting for a chance
to tell my story.
I did not mean to slay you that day
had you just done what I had asked
replace the fricken faucet
so the drip would stop.
No you thought to teach me
to not make so simple of a demand
so when you turned your back on me
I hit you on the head with a pipe.
They found me under the sink
the drip finally gone
while blood pooled round your head.
Insanity I did plea
would you not if you had to listen to…….
Drip.
Drip.
Drip.

A single hard working mom of a soon to be teenage son. A poet and story teller I have wanted to write since I was a child. This space is where I share stories about myself and my life and the creative poetry that stirs my soul. My hope is you will pull up a chair and a cup of coffee delving into the world that I offer and you find simple enjoyment for a few moments. Welcome to The Wonderful & Wacky World of One Single Mom
