Today’s Reality

Time spools
moving forward to the unknown
blurring the past
One never knows what the future will bring
we only know what the past has held
the fears
the joys
the history
of mankind
of ourselves.
Lost in a wellspring of time
wrapped in the chains of the past
writhing to escape
wanting to be free for the future
wanting to be able to look forward to
a time
where there is no strife
no war
no abuse
no killings
no hate mongers
railing at the populace.
the world is falling backwards
a reversal
a loss of integrity
of feeling that all are interconnected.
What abounds now…….
mass murderers ruling countries
misogynistic imperialism
believing one knows better than weaker sex.
Stand tall
break free
bring them to their knees.
Until prejudice
entitled mentalities are destroyed
forever more
we shall continue to fall
back to the stone age.

I am a single hard working mom in her 40's. I have always written poetry and I love words. I live with depression and its ups downs. This is a space where I can create and write all that I need to.

  1. Just understand that the past, though yes is imperfect, though is a map for our future. Iโ€™ll gladly embrace the past than forget it for an unknown future. Too many dismiss the past but fail to remember that it repeats itself.

      1. I was just saying. ๐Ÿ˜ Iโ€™m just very wary of those who want to erase history and think a utopian future is imperative. Nazi Germany learned the hard way.
