Untitled Poem of the Day #26

Crimson tides
blood running through the streets
pray to god
that the heavens shall hold
evil will not win
redemption is nigh.
Already won
evil wears the mask…..
the list
the names
written in the annals of history
destined to be repeated
as each one escalates
propaganda to fill the minds
of those looking for
a reason to blame
to fault
all others unlike themselves
for their desire to roost on the sidelines
price paid
dues given
without their so much as lifting a finger.
these men
these women
would kill this world
remade in their images.
Placing their wants
their demands
their belief
their entitlement to air
there are those who watch
who wait
who will take them down
with nothing more
than cracked codes
their very own egos
misused powers
a rising of people ready
to make the world better.

Author: Jay-lyn Doerksen

A single hard working mom of a soon to be teenage son. A poet and story teller I have wanted to write since I was a child. This space is where I share stories about myself and my life and the creative poetry that stirs my soul. My hope is you will pull up a chair and a cup of coffee delving into the world that I offer and you find simple enjoyment for a few moments. Welcome to The Wonderful & Wacky World of One Single Mom
