Can you guess?

I do not wear a cape.
I do not wear a short skirt.
I wear stilettos
as I stalk through the night.
I am a different kind of Super Hero
one you might not expect
my villains
they are the danger
that stalks children
women
alike.
Police
Child’s advocate
none can ease the fear
when abuse runs rampant
and
no one hears.
Dance
skip
eager to please
draw you in
kill you I will.
As eyes widen
blade slips between the ribs
relish the fear
the horror
I have invoked.
What you are feeling?
That is what every child you carved
hurt
dissected
has felt.
Heart stutters to a stop
grin
elfish
pleased
proud.
I am a super hero
just not the type you would expect…..
as to my secret identity?
Well…..
I will let you guess.

A single hard working mom of a soon to be teenage son. A poet and story teller I have wanted to write since I was a child. This space is where I share stories about myself and my life and the creative poetry that stirs my soul. My hope is you will pull up a chair and a cup of coffee delving into the world that I offer and you find simple enjoyment for a few moments. Welcome to The Wonderful & Wacky World of One Single Mom
