Tired

Tears
streaking
trailing
salted lips
my heart is breaking.
I love you dear.
I want the innocence
of our love
of summer winds
autumn breeze
I want not to feel broken.
Fuck this hurts me.
I want starlit dances
with a partner
who treasures me
shows me my worth.
Who takes the time
to make me laugh
who will hold me when the monsters call
cradling me close in safety.
I want once more
to feel marvelous
excited
wanted
not broken.
Tired
oh so tired
of hiding behind fake smiles
tear soaked pillows
alcohol fueled lust
men I know not
my nightly companions instead of you.
Peel back the fantasy
rotted beneath
black
festering
vile decay…..
no longer is this love
no longer is this my dream
fading away
smoking tatters in the wind.

A single hard working mom of a soon to be teenage son. A poet and story teller I have wanted to write since I was a child. This space is where I share stories about myself and my life and the creative poetry that stirs my soul. My hope is you will pull up a chair and a cup of coffee delving into the world that I offer and you find simple enjoyment for a few moments. Welcome to The Wonderful & Wacky World of One Single Mom
