Privilege
unearned
layer upon layer of deceit
no one knows
no one can know
our freedoms
our trust
merely a mirage.
We thought
(clearly mistaken)
that we could decide
choose
live life for ourselves
pursue our dreams
yet this is not true.
Allowed the illusion
delusion
chattel we are
yoked
penned within cities
towns
hamlets
none are safe.
With subtle movement
crowded towards an uncertain future
lead by vicious men
using blood money
to take over the world.

Thank you. It isn’t lovey dovey though. A little more…

I do like thought provoking poetry though!
And it’s true. We’ve fought wars for decades for little to nothing that benefit us.

I really liked this deviation from love. You wrote an excellent portrayal of seedy decision makers.
