Heretics

Each step
takes me further away
brings me bitter peace
acceptance of the world around me.
Wrapped in tranquil acrimony
holding my tongue
holding my views
holding my reality
close to me.
No one wants to hear
no one wants to know
no one wants to see
differences
only the same.
Sheep in a huddle
grouped together
wanting nothing more
than to conform
to become like everyone else.
Brain washed
spoon fed ideology
never a thought of ones own.
This is what our world has become
a mouthpiece for the wicked
who look to destroy
who look to raze our lands
rape
pillage
destroy
taking what they want
never giving back.
it seems to those who…..
ripped the scales from their eyes
opened their ears to cries around
who try to rally
to educate
only to be named…..
heretics.

A single hard working mom of a soon to be teenage son. A poet and story teller I have wanted to write since I was a child. This space is where I share stories about myself and my life and the creative poetry that stirs my soul. My hope is you will pull up a chair and a cup of coffee delving into the world that I offer and you find simple enjoyment for a few moments. Welcome to The Wonderful & Wacky World of One Single Mom

  1. Yes! Exactly that and more! Heretics and Infadels, godless creatures heading for hell, I have been called all of them but let me just say this, one’s talent blossoms when the scales are removed from our eyes. Granted my talent is a little more raunchy and closer to the bone than yours but the freedom our individuality affords us is infinite! Thank you for this poem! You could have been quoting me it is so in-line and so refreshingly different at the same time to the way I think and see the world! I love this!
