I suddenly realize
the need
the desire
the want
to be in the forefront
everyone’s attention on you.
You fear you are invisible.
You fear that you matter not.
So
play that role
sing that song
I see you
the real you
beneath it all.
I am no longer blind.
No longer looking
seeing through rose colored glasses
despite
in spite of
this swirl of emotions
I realize……
I am not meant to be your lover.
I am not meant to be your soul.
I am meant to be your haven.
I am meant to be your truth.
I am meant to show you…..
what love really is.
I am meant to be
that one true love
once in a lifetime.
Showing you
showing me
what could be.
Denial.
Anger.
Draw the curtains.
Pretend not to see.
Pretend not to feel.
Push me away
push me to the side
but I see you baby
I see it all.
The warts.
The agony.
The fire.
Never
am I going to leave you
always I will be here
loving you
even when you believe
you are not worth it..

A single hard working mom of a soon to be teenage son. A poet and story teller I have wanted to write since I was a child. This space is where I share stories about myself and my life and the creative poetry that stirs my soul. My hope is you will pull up a chair and a cup of coffee delving into the world that I offer and you find simple enjoyment for a few moments.
