Word of the Day Challenge #33 (Untitled)

I watch beyond the windows
bare street
a void
stretched before me
with no way to cross
no way to find home.
I feel demeaned
as though my life
all a dream
a fantasy
a tale woven
from fabric that comes unwound
stretched from corner to corner
covering my breast.
wandering the mists
I am parched
needing something
I do not know what.
Cling to false idol
cling to songs of love
ballads ring upon my ears
even as I fall
wings of wind
dashed upon the rocks.
Watching plumes of water spray
diamonds dance in the sun.
Return to times of innocence
return to times of joy
return to life
return to death
return forever more.

A single hard working mom of a soon to be teenage son. A poet and story teller I have wanted to write since I was a child. This space is where I share stories about myself and my life and the creative poetry that stirs my soul. My hope is you will pull up a chair and a cup of coffee delving into the world that I offer and you find simple enjoyment for a few moments. Welcome to The Wonderful & Wacky World of One Single Mom

  1. I like the way that you are expressing feelings and emotions, lovely writing. Do you ever think of life looking out at the busy, bustling street where so much seems to be happening it is hard to take it all in? 🙂 🙂

    1. Always. More so at work because I work in customer service and deal with a steady flow of people all day long. Some times it is too much absorbing all that other energy. It can be exhausting. But there are so many ideas and thoughts that it beings to me. 😊 I am glad you enjoy reading my poems. Thank you.
