Over Again

Standing at the crossroads
wondering
is this the place?
Follow the left path
turn to the right
walk straight ahead
who really knows?
Cobbled with broken promises
shattered dreams
tears
etched with acid
into the stones.
History dances
beneath your feet
if only you stop to listen
to feel
the sensations that flow over you
the ghosts whispering in your ear.
Promises
insinuated
a hint of noise
caressing your skin
seduction of the past
is there really any need to change?
Assailed
screams
hallucinations
realization that going forward
without change
means a repetition
of history
replete with horror
with genocide
with men who think they are king
ruling their own small inner sanctums
their own small fiefdoms.
Once upon a time
if given enough rope
idiots hung themselves
simple solution.
Natural evolution.
Today…..
the crossroads become a hangman’s gaol
innocents die
cretins rule
history continues to replay
over
over
over again
whilst humanity fails.

A single hard working mom of a soon to be teenage son. A poet and story teller I have wanted to write since I was a child. This space is where I share stories about myself and my life and the creative poetry that stirs my soul. My hope is you will pull up a chair and a cup of coffee delving into the world that I offer and you find simple enjoyment for a few moments. Welcome to The Wonderful & Wacky World of One Single Mom
