Word of the Day Challenge #40-Untitled Poem

How does it feel?
Vast barrenness of soul
incomplete
unless you are the centre
of this three ring circus.
Surrounded
on all sides
fawners
flatterers
flunkies.
Clowns on the night.
Clowns on the right.
Ghostly whispers follow
chasing you through the gloom
loneliness
tears on your cheeks
as you try to determine…..
Why does nobody like me?
Love bought.
Love sold.
Commodity in your tool chest.
Facade of….
perfection
hiding black rot.
Wife.
Child.
Mistress.
Lover
Protector.
Each surround you
pandering to your fears
not all is as it seems.
Unlike Midas
anything
everything
you touch tarnishes
bleeds black souls.
Opulent homesteads
castles all
fill not the empty hole.
Bitter truth
poisoned reality
no one loves you
no one ever does.

I am a single hard working mom in her 40's. I have always written poetry and I love words. I live with depression and its ups downs. This is a space where I can create and write all that I need to.

    1. Thank you so much! I cannot express my appreciation enough that you read and comment on my poetry. My poems are both personal and creative. Lately it is a lot of creativity more so then personal although there are emotions that bump into the creative. Thank you. 🙂
