Shield Maiden

Craven men
crawl through the forest
unable to fight
unable to face
under cover of black magic
tear apart thy enemy
best make sure they’re all dead.
Mewling child
hid away
even as kin is slain
eyes aglitter with hatred
even as tears streak her cheeks
heart hardens
stone cold
her knife comes to hand.
Cowardly bastards
afraid what they knew not of
whipped to false courage
by golden tongue queen
she of devil art.
Third eye blind.
Grew she did
child of the night
sliding between the shadows
dancing between sheathed blades
learning assassin art.
There would be time
all did reason
for her to become a Queen
Now
to become an assassin
learn to dance
Poisoned airs
paranoia
looking over her shoulder
surrounded with
by
protectors with blades
axes
wonder if they really care?
Thick midnight
stars swallowed
crested moon devoured.
Silence throughout the land
betwixt
midnight hour
bleeding dawn
time has come.
Upon Ice Throne sits….
She devil
Usurper
devoured by evil
forsaken by good
She waits……
cometh the Viking Child.

This space is where I share stories about myself and my life and the creative poetry that stirs my soul. My hope is you will pull up a chair and a cup of coffee delving into the world that I offer and you find simple enjoyment for a few moments. Welcome to The Wonderful & Wacky World of One Single Mom
