Love’s Pain Never Lessens

This is an accompany poem to Your Fool.

Resigned
that is how I feel
why I thought this time would be different
I could not tell you.
When you said you loved me
I pashawed
how can you love someone from afar?
You can
for I do
which is why this pain
erupting inside of me
feels as though I am rending in two.
I want to wail
screech
pound upon the alter of fate
demanding to know
why am I the last always
prophesied to never have care
poor lonely woman
love has always been my downfall.
Whispered words
slipped between the worlds of reality
of dreams
of fantasy
lulling me
pacifying my need
for love and adoration.
Weep I shall
for fantasies unplayed
for dreams unrealized
letting go of this infatuation
with love
with the thought
that there is someone for me.
Head hung low
see not the tears aglitter
upon my cheeks.
Good bye my love
I shall whisper
into your sleeping ear
thank you for these times
but flee I must
staying here
will only bleed me.

Your Fool

I feel the fool
as I sit here
tears seeping from my eyes
at the pain I feel
even though we are so far apart.
A part of my day
a love that I have
I told myself I was the one.
I thought
I do not know what I thought
I should have known
romance does not play out
I am the one
left sitting on the curb
wondering what went wrong.
I saw you accidentally
on a night you told me you were busy
I had gone out with some friends.
They tried to shield me
as they have before
but I saw you
I saw her in your arms
held tight
as you did with me last night.
Am I but a conquest?
Someone who you needed to control
to make your own
until satisfied
you rode on to the next one.
I told you
when you said I love you
I wanted none of that
I am too old
to play these teenage games.
I wish you farewell
for my heart is breaking in two
and if you stay near me
I will always be your fool.

Sweet Dreams

Candle light
flattery
rose petals on the bed
a new seduction
hunger in your eyes.
Raw power
pheromones rich in the air
wicked smile
dances across my lips.
Come together
souls gathered
fingers touch
lips
soft against skin
tongue
draws slow designs
trembling with longing
you push me back.
Sensations
building of heat
bodies sealed together.
Passion searing
mouths come together
moaning.
Explosive
shuddering
your name roared
spent
shivering
with tonight’s desire
two once more.

Word of the Day Challenge #64-Untitled Poem

I bow before you
a masquerade
kingly in all your touches.
You…..
you called for me
beseeched the night skies
hoping for
needing to
herald a new beginning.
I am death
slithering
snaking
striding through the halls
the darkness
smoke in the mirrors.
My face never seen.
My presence
the stirring of small hairs
on the back of your neck.
You beckoned
wanted to know the truth
beat your chest
bare your heart
someone…..
someone must pay.
Would that it were that simple
my lord
to find the culprit
to make them pay
it will not bring back the victims
you must let them lay.
Your initial wrath
simmers to rage
becomes slow sorrow
as reality is shown to you.
Some lies need must play
some truths need must be hidden.
Blades secreted
payment in blood
time will come
when your revenge is done.

Fear not the Fool

Safe
you thought
scampering around the hallways
under cover of night.
Snick
snee
no lock is closed to thee
tumblers move of their own accord
doors swing open
on silent hinges.
Small children
horror filled
screams ripped from tongueless mouths
your laughter
insanity filled
rips through the chamber
inflicting as much pain
as your pills.
Deadened
benumbed
laying there
heads lolling
lost in a drug induced world
so they hurt no more.
You are dastardly.
You are more than mean.
You stole these children
their innocence
their laughter
targeting them for debasement
for purity
money changed hands
I have seen it all
while sitting on the floor.
Creature of habit
your steps are always the same
path worn into stones
with each night’s passing.
Lay upon the floor
drool oozing
pooling beneath your head
as I sit
cross legged watching your death.
Harlequin I am…..
purveyor of broken dreams
(yours that is)
huntress of midnight
(shadow your steps)
guardian of splintered childhoods
(fear me not
I am here to help you)
Take me into your home
see me as a jester
reality be
I am more than that.
I am…..
your nightmare
their beautiful Paladin.

Miss Hyde

Grey desolation
bleeds through the colors
stalking me
daring me to run
so it may hunt me.
Hurling through the abyss
I hear mocking laughter
screaming in my ears.
I shriek.
Rip at my hair.
Cover my ears.
Shed tears of sorrow
of hopelessness
of despair.
When did I become so lost?
When did my world go from sun
from flowers
from moonlight dinners
to this?
It hurt.
I sit alone
at a table for two
a single glass of wine.
I sip it slowly
eyes scanning
until I find you…..
my love.
I gave you everything.
He stole from you.
I put aside my hopes
my dreams.
He took your future.
I float in a fog
there is no more worth living
he no longer loves me
he no longer cares.
He never did.
It was all a game.
You lost.
He stole your everything.
Voices
grim
screeching with righteousness.
I grip my head
stronger then they am I.
Stumbling back
I run and hide.
