Sweet Song of Eternal Slumber

Hauntingly lyrical
mournful hum
wending its way through nights
calling forth
sins of the past
tears of the present
fears of the future
all rolled into one.
Plink of untuned keys
shrill
shattering peaceful dusk
grating noise
nails upon the chalk
skitter up the spine
cockroach crawl
forever more feeling its legs.
Home upon the hill
derelict
wind rushes through broken windows
pulled apart boards
creaks upon the floor
rusted red
paint
coats the floor
where all dread to tread.
Specter in the window
barely glanced
sways to music only heard by one
a rhapsody of death
played on forever more.

I am a single hard working mom in her 40's. I have always written poetry and I love words. I live with depression and its ups downs. This is a space where I can create and write all that I need to.
