Word of the Day Challenge #73-Untitled Poem

Kiss of the wind
gentle brush against my cheek
tender
reminding me
of safety found within your arms
your lips brushing my forehead.
I saw a butterfly today
beautiful in its color
for never had I seen
deep purples with blues
vibrant
magnificent
I wanted to share with you.
Crimson waves
glowing fires deep beneath
ruby red
satin water
caressing my skin.
Laughter
mocking with love
smack in the face
turn quickly
but there is no grace
you are not there
never have been.
It hurts
these random beauties
I want only to share with you
turn to you
smile on my face.
You are not there.
You left me here
assuring me that you knew best
even as it broke me.

A single hard working mom of a soon to be teenage son. A poet and story teller I have wanted to write since I was a child. This space is where I share stories about myself and my life and the creative poetry that stirs my soul. My hope is you will pull up a chair and a cup of coffee delving into the world that I offer and you find simple enjoyment for a few moments. Welcome to The Wonderful & Wacky World of One Single Mom
