Word of the Day Challenge #74-Untitled Poem

It takes but one look…..
One look
It takes the merest whisper…..
Warm whisper
to make me beg
to make me plead
for your touch
for your pleasure
for everything.
That is one side.
It took one spoken word…..
it took less time
then ripping off a band aid
telling me
I could no longer be yours
Coward you were.
Not even to my face
making my eyes blur
with unshed tears
My heart did soon break.
How could you run?
How could you make me feel?
Promise you did
you are not like the others
and yet…..
here I go again
one single call
one I miss you baby
and I am ready
to take you back
whilst on the sidelines
where my girl squad rules
angry shouts:
Are you bloody daft?
Don’t take that bastard back!

A single hard working mom of a soon to be teenage son. A poet and story teller I have wanted to write since I was a child. This space is where I share stories about myself and my life and the creative poetry that stirs my soul. My hope is you will pull up a chair and a cup of coffee delving into the world that I offer and you find simple enjoyment for a few moments. Welcome to The Wonderful & Wacky World of One Single Mom
