Word of the Day Challenge #77-Untitled Poem

I am that person
the one everyone comes to
for help
with life
love
homework
but no one comes for me..
Wrapped in sadness
a cocoon
I wish I could emerge from
like a butterfly
spreading its wings
taking flight
soaring against brilliant  blues
pristine whites
nary a thought
a concern
would I have.
Swooping here and there
giddy with delight
away from my reality
flit
rose to rose
daisy to daisy
pure joy
delight
spiralling
dizzy
only to fall back to earth.
My mask slips
tear travels down the curve of my cheek
I can no longer be uplifting
I can no longer define myself
I am but a butterfly
captured
pinned to the board
pretty to look at
devoid of all pain.

I am a single hard working mom in her 40's. I have always written poetry and I love words. I live with depression and its ups downs. This is a space where I can create and write all that I need to.
