Word of the Day Challenge #99-Untitled Poem

I use to never fear
I use to never look back
you changed that
I use to never worry
I use to never…..
You came in
dove to an olive
hands held
spoke with divinity
making me your child
your disciple
your means to an end
plans oh so foul.
Creep
silent footfalls
peering here
gathering all the secrets there
returning
loyal lapdog
anything to retain your sick attention
to remain your favorite
even as you striped me of my innocence.
Hunger for acceptance
becomes vile hatred
set to side
found another
younger than I…..
younger than I when you took me
molding me
seductive innocence
striking blade.
I sit
your head upon my lap
your eyes sightless
stroking your hair
crooning to my precious
never aware
of just how insane I was.

A single hard working mom of a soon to be teenage son. A poet and story teller I have wanted to write since I was a child. This space is where I share stories about myself and my life and the creative poetry that stirs my soul. My hope is you will pull up a chair and a cup of coffee delving into the world that I offer and you find simple enjoyment for a few moments. Welcome to The Wonderful & Wacky World of One Single Mom
