Apple……Tree

Let us begin the foray into the day with a little tid bit from yesterday. Asking why I did not post yesterday? I wrote two poems and had ideas for two written blog posts. And work. Work always getting in the way. Here is the first of two.
Yesterday morning my alarm was set for 6 a.m.
Briefly at approximately 5:40 a.m. I moved.
This is the following conversation:
Tember: Mom finally you are awake!
Me: What?
Tember: Mom I have been up since 5:05 a.m.
Me: What? (By now I am patting floor trying to find my glasses)
Tember: Mom I beat you getting up!
Me: What? (Glasses now perched on nose peering at this peculiar animated young man standing in my door)
Tember (with exaggerated patience) Mom……I have been up since 5:05.
Me: Doing what?
Tember: I have been cleaning my room. By the way there is a lot of laundry to do and could you make coffee?
I made coffee.
New Blend & Brand.
Stone City Coffee Roasters. (New Local coffee supplier. Also worked with the owner of the company. She just left the company to concentrate fully on her new company)
Blend: Columbian-Plum/Chocolate/Vanilla.
Enough was made for two cups for me and one for Tember. However Tember decided that this was really good coffee and had two full cups. Necessitating in the making of a second pot. Since opening my first bag on Tuesday evening I have made a total of with today’s pot-6 pots of coffee. It is amazing.
This upcoming weekend in a long weekend here in Manitoba. Not sure about the rest of Canada but here it is a Civil holiday on Monday so open reduced hours of 9-6.
I am working 9:30-6. The ex usually has the Sunday evening off and I assumed that he would keep Tember until Monday. I mean I am working and it would give them extra time together. Well apparently the fact that Tember is going to be at his dad’s for a full two weeks beginning the 7th he is coming home early…….Sunday afternoon.
I was really perplexed by this. Never has he come home early. Unless I was the one to go and pick him up.
I messaged the ex to ask him if he could keep Tember until Monday evening.
I should have listened closer to what Tember was saying to me. It makes so much sense now and also gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.
Tember’s response had been  ‘dad said I was going to be with him for two weeks so I should spend time with you.’
I messaged the ex.
Ex’s response: Tember told me that you wanted him home early on Sunday because I have him for two weeks starting on Friday.
Hmmmmmmmmm………..
Looks like someone might be missing his mom before he even goes.
Also this is going to be the first time in two years that I am alone for two weeks.
Not sure what I am going to fill all my time with.
Probably what I do now………drink coffee/write/read emails/read books/listen to music/tan.
What I will miss:
Huh?…..Mom…..mom……mommy…….mooooooommmmmmmmmyyyyyyyy……..mother (hate this one)…….why do I have to do this?
Tember is positive he will see me. At work for sure. Unless I am not working.
This is going to be a little hard on me as we are always together even when he is with his dad.
But I will be brave.
No quivering lip.
No tears.
It is not like he won’t return.
I can do this.
I think.
Keep your fingers crossed.
However if you receive an Amber Alert for Tember know he is with me safe and sound…….I just forgot to let his dad know I was taking him. Oooooops.

  1. LOL, you will be fine mama, just enjoy the peace and get stuff done. There is only so much housecleaning you can do, so try to get out and do fun things for yourself, go see a movie, go see a friend. Have a friend over, go lounge by a pool, lake, or ocean somewhere, don’t stay cooped up if you can help it. If you stay busy, the time will fly!

    1. I plan to enjoy the quiet for a couple of days. And I work. Lots of reading. And here is the best thing (tee hee hee hee) at least for two weeks I am assured no one is going to miss the toilet. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
