Poignant Memories

Cackle
harsh
murder atop the eave
candles burn
behind vacant eyes
see not
dancing in disguise.
Voices call
push
this way
and that
telling me
who is good
who is evil
who shall live
who shall die
have I come all this way
just to lie?
Chortle
hear within
grating cold
down to your soul
know
Jester is coming
prancing
preening
skull in hand
run
run
fat one
here I come.
Dancing
flickering upon wall
I watch
they talk to me
I am sure.
Distracted
layer upon layer
hidden within
damage you did.
Pretty pretty colors
flame knit wall
I will go for the jugular
this fat man
I do promise.

A single hard working mom of a soon to be teenage son. A poet and story teller I have wanted to write since I was a child. This space is where I share stories about myself and my life and the creative poetry that stirs my soul. My hope is you will pull up a chair and a cup of coffee delving into the world that I offer and you find simple enjoyment for a few moments. Welcome to The Wonderful & Wacky World of One Single Mom
