Dead Dame

Tippity tap
scritch
subtle howl in the air
a nibble
a threat
felt
sensed
glance around
over shoulder
on the ground
oh my god
you stupid ass
run
run
run!
Laughter
glee
horror felt
set aside
movie’s done
reality returns
shrug on jackets
October’s frost
lays on the ground.
Crackle snap
tongues of cold
nipping at nose
blow upon numbness.
Creep slowly
raise self up
peer in window
fingers burned to sill
nothing to see
black all around
hair raised
on back of neck
did you hear that sound?
Graveyard creeps
mist
spooling low to ground
leaves
crisp
tainted smell
fear rises
suddenly
bad idea it seems
though felt
bonded through time
now was not the time to greet.
Turn to run.
Turn to flee.
Holy shit
um
howdy?
Glowing in darkness
lips
black with blood
eyes ablaze
lust
uncontrolled
body
willed forward
fear rises
until
nothing
your mind
an empty horror
turned
mush
now you have become
turned
her obedient familiar.
Drool
senseless
time lost
no longer able to laugh
no longer able to cry
no longer able to run
like you yelled at that dumb dumb
(in the movie
now you are one)

A single hard working mom of a soon to be teenage son. A poet and story teller I have wanted to write since I was a child. This space is where I share stories about myself and my life and the creative poetry that stirs my soul. My hope is you will pull up a chair and a cup of coffee delving into the world that I offer and you find simple enjoyment for a few moments. Welcome to The Wonderful & Wacky World of One Single Mom

    1. Thank you so much. I am sorry it took so late to reply as I missed my notification. I am having some fun this month with my darker side rising to the surface. Letting out all my hidden voices ha ha ha ha hope that you have been doing well as I have not seen any writings from you in the last while. 🙂

      1. It has been a busy time with work and family and mood. These are my dark days as the sun recedes. SAD is strong. But the sun peaks out and I see it more often these days as I have opportunities to work where there are windows.
