Rats & Sinking Ships

Palpable…..
everyone sees it
hanging in the air
taste it
bitter on tongues
twisted lips
broken dreams
hurts to discover
one is not as great as the other.
Truly thought
did you
decimation of life
cruelty to humans
blatant patronizing
with tyrants
small men
afraid to fail
bullies to the end
hatred
bred by your words
your own actions
you thought
nothing untoward
behaviour you exhibited.
Rats
abandon ship
water rushing in
breath of relief
even as you dispute
you have lost
time has come to pay
for sins wrought.
One little piggy…..
two little piggy…..
three little piggy…..
all sycophants
will be made to pay
bled a nation
upon own interests
not sure
that you can run
very far.

A single hard working mom of a soon to be teenage son. A poet and story teller I have wanted to write since I was a child. This space is where I share stories about myself and my life and the creative poetry that stirs my soul. My hope is you will pull up a chair and a cup of coffee delving into the world that I offer and you find simple enjoyment for a few moments. Welcome to The Wonderful & Wacky World of One Single Mom

    1. Thank you. I wrote it as you see on the 4th but refused to post it until it was called. I did not want to jinx it. 😂😂😂😂 And there is the height of egotism that my posting this before could somehow change the outcome. But I was not taking any chances.
