Emmie Untitled Poem #1

Don’t like him.
hint of the woman she is
the woman she hides behind
hiding the small girl within
barricaded behind steel bars
no one allowed to get close
no one able to find the truth
held close to breast
terror filled
twisting hair between fingers
slumped down
fixated beyond this meeting.
Who don’t you like Emmie?
I have told you
time and again
my name is not Emmie
it is and always has been
Once you went by Emmie.
No more.
Who is it that you do not like Emmellia?
You know who.
And if he persists I will kill him.
Threats are serious Emmellia.
You cannot go around threatening the male staff.
They should learn to keep hands to themselves than.
More fantasies?

Crawled along dark corridor
ringing off empty cells
cling to wall
cling to bear
cling to wildness
get close no one can.
Mouth open.
Soundless pain.
Beside body
orange crew cut
painted scarlet
forever stains his face
so much blood
it is hard to tell
where his ends
and hers begins.

  1. Wow such a dark place Emmie lives, I can see her trapped inside her own child like mind, woman turned to traumatised child turns to violence as her default solution. Always leaves us with a cold chill… love it, love it, love it!
I am really enjoying reading Emmellia/Emmie’s journey. 💖💖💖

    1. This is her setting things up. This one took three/four days. All she kept saying was I don’t like him. Now I can see and the other aspect I have been seeing through his eyes and it was not making sense. Now it does. That is a particularly sick individual and I think I have been shying away from writing him. But he is emerging too. Thank goodness only key in two parts. I am even afraid of this one. 😘😘😘💜💜
