Emmie Untitled Poem #3

Bruised eyes
broken spirit
moves furtively
clinging to shadows
wanting
needing
to be unseen
unminded
allowing for escape
allowing reprieve
from hands that walked
upon dainty flesh
pressed deep
finger prints
painted upon
child thighs
mouth grimaced
blackness
retreat deep
slide the door shut
deep rattle
find within
an oasis
to cling
while in real time
pain is lingering
dancing across sizzled nerves
wringing from
tortured mewls
even as in the sun she dances
alone
away from
those who would harm
who would use
who would abuse
she finds freedom here
for now…..
Time will come
they shall pay
for now
she remains hidden
within the oasis built
to house her
while the abuse continues.

A single hard working mom of a soon to be teenage son. A poet and story teller I have wanted to write since I was a child. This space is where I share stories about myself and my life and the creative poetry that stirs my soul. My hope is you will pull up a chair and a cup of coffee delving into the world that I offer and you find simple enjoyment for a few moments. Welcome to The Wonderful & Wacky World of One Single Mom
