Monsters in Sight

Takes
one word
one explanation
heard in background
flash
sudden realization
actions
submerged under water
forgotten?
cringe worthy
shy away
why now
what memories
creep
invading
no matter
voices screaming
no
in head
turn away
shield eyes
heart
never learn the truth
easier to stay blind
it hurts less
it means less
when nothing is searched for.
Child scared
scarred
looking to hurt self
any way one can
to forget the pain
to forget
that no one loved her enough
that no one cared enough
to protect her from the monsters
hiding beneath her bed.

A single hard working mom of a soon to be teenage son. A poet and story teller I have wanted to write since I was a child. This space is where I share stories about myself and my life and the creative poetry that stirs my soul. My hope is you will pull up a chair and a cup of coffee delving into the world that I offer and you find simple enjoyment for a few moments. Welcome to The Wonderful & Wacky World of One Single Mom

    1. I hope not this deals with abuse and is based on character that is forming. She had a bad childhood and these poems are a reflection of that. And if you are feeling like this please please reach out little sis. 😘🤗

      1. Yeah, I do have some experience with abuse – and don’t worry, I’m not feeling like the girl is in the poem right now, it’s just something I used to feel ages ago, that’s all 🤗

    1. Happy New Year. To you and yours as well. Three day weekend and son is at dad’s freaking out because he has done none of the work he was to do. Mom is not being overly helpful lol
