Emmie/Emmellia Untitled Poem #12

Death comes
slow
creeping close
black bleeds
red
through time
voices call
screaming
searing
pushing
get away
shrieks
bound wrists
blades removed
time taken
hurt self
why
all the same
questions
again
again
again
go away
never hear
never listen
left to bleed…..
leave me
heed me
desolate
languish
grey soulled
fuck you
make it all better
promised lies
like all the others
get away
abandon me…..
huddled
pain
gasped fear
only one
leaving
turn
too late
shade gone
reverberating howl
beating flesh
plunge needle in
finally…..
let her rest.

  1. Wow she went silent on you because she was heading for the final journey! A complete work of poetry for one person’s story! Beautifully done lil Sis. Harrowing, sad, scary and thought provoking. Well done! 💖

          1. Unless you have a clear direction to take her in that doesn’t take you and your readers down the rabbit hole of utter despair with no light at the end of it, even if it’s just a small justice that she gets, I would say it is complete. Because her story is told in abstract poetic verse, it makes it difficult to guide the trajectory of the storyline without going so dark that it becomes uncomfortable to read. Rarely in the cases of people like Emmie, either real or fictional, is there a happy ending. It’s up to you to decide whether you have told enough of her story to satisfy her need to say why she had to tell it.
Does that make sense? I’m not sure I’ve articulated it very well sis, sorry. 😀

    1. Thank you so very much. That is the first art piece I have created. Originally I thought was going to be a black scribble with angry red but instead that is what I drew. I like it. I like drawing and coloring. I need to remember I am doing for myself. My hair and I have long had a love hate relationship but now we are in a beautiful relationship and I love it. Thank you for stopping by. 🤓💜

      1. That is great!!! I’m glad you found your common ground with your locks. Well, I can relate to both, the art work and the hair. Keep up the drawing and coloring. I always feel like it adds more depth to poetry, and creates more conversation of the meaning and purpose behind the words. You’re so welcome! Glad I did. 💛
