If Only

Cease your lies child
no one is tracking you
no one is trying to sell you
what is wrong with you
she is your mother.
eyes turned inward
not the bruises
not the broken bones
nor burns
nor  sullen turn of mouth.
forced down
chocked upon
a knee upon her back
woman who was to love
turned to torture instead.
Neighbors shaking heads.
How did it come to this?
public beating of chests
if only…..
they had not ignored…..
they had opened their doors…..
shrug of shoulders
just another uncounted death
if only…..

A single hard working mom of a soon to be teenage son. A poet and story teller I have wanted to write since I was a child. This space is where I share stories about myself and my life and the creative poetry that stirs my soul. My hope is you will pull up a chair and a cup of coffee delving into the world that I offer and you find simple enjoyment for a few moments. Welcome to The Wonderful & Wacky World of One Single Mom
