Untitled Dark Poem #8

Smile
they said
such a pretty girl
lips of rosy red
honey’ed hair
eyes
blue deep
seen only beneath the waves
a mermaid
dressed as such
upon a rock
none see
tears
tracking through dusty paint
chains
lichen covered
blend with plaster rock
none know
captive
not
freedom bound
lies told
by men
wanting to own
to scorn
lay beneath
breathe
wait
time will come
knives will be placed
justice will be served
those men shall fall
before you
on their knees.

A single hard working mom of a soon to be teenage son. A poet and story teller I have wanted to write since I was a child. This space is where I share stories about myself and my life and the creative poetry that stirs my soul. My hope is you will pull up a chair and a cup of coffee delving into the world that I offer and you find simple enjoyment for a few moments. Welcome to The Wonderful & Wacky World of One Single Mom
