Forgiveness is Not ours To Give

Vast space
surround me;
above
crystalline blue
dotted white
clouds
soft
able to hold a baby
while an adult does plunge
straight through
right down to the other side.
Beneath
scorched earth
barren
scarred with brutal past
history taken
rewritten
in the face of only one.
I lay
ear pressed
listening
hearing
muted cries
reaching…..
for rest
reaching….
for justice
reaching…..
for home once more.
Tears
beneath cheek
green blooms
giggles heard
gentle caress…..
‘Finally we can rest.’

A single hard working mom of a soon to be teenage son. A poet and story teller I have wanted to write since I was a child. This space is where I share stories about myself and my life and the creative poetry that stirs my soul. My hope is you will pull up a chair and a cup of coffee delving into the world that I offer and you find simple enjoyment for a few moments. Welcome to The Wonderful & Wacky World of One Single Mom

    1. Thank you. It is not quite what I see in my mind’s eye but the words are there. I am so saddened and angered by what is coming out in the papers and while I knew I also did not know…..my words give voice I hope to those who cannot speak for themselves. These are their stories.
