I listen
head titled
voices wash over
stories
built upon the strands
subtle breeze
rifling faded leaves
love stories
lines written in the sands
dissolved by the sea
horrors that rise
when night is at its blackest
serenity is a lie
eyes dry
pearls no longer glow
lighting the skyline
bronzed fire
hear the dragons roar.
Thunder bellows
lightening crackles
triumphant I stand
masque torn off
woman I see
reflected in the mirror
phoenix
golden plume
strength…..
once I was broken
once I was lost
once I thought never to be found;
lies
ingrained
chains
ripped free
never again
will I allow you to make me bleed.
