Had To Be Tested

When T came home on Sunday he had the sniffles.
Nothing major not enough to alarm me at all.
He had had for a couple of days or it just started on Sunday I have yet to figure that one out.

When I got home from work on Monday T told me he was not feeling well.
Stuffy nose that would not stop running.
Head.
His throat was a little sore.
His buddy had had a cold the previous week so again I was in no way concerned.
Tuesday he was a little hot, still not feeling well and wanting to sleep.
So I agreed to him staying home.
I would rather be safe than sorry.

Yesterday I woke up and my throat was a little scratchy.
And my nose was stuffy.
And I was coughing.
I knew it was a cold.
I am positive it is a cold.
Yet T was still not feeling 100%.
I hemmed and hawed but eventually I called Health Links.
And after answering their questions they recommended that we be tested.
For Covid.
Or self isolate for 10 days.

No not isolating for 10 days so I called and made an appointment.
We were going to get our brains poked.

Our appointment was for 9:20 we were back home by 10.
And it was not that bad.
Head back.
Eyes closed.
In went swab.
Found the spot.
Twirl for 10 seconds.
I crossed my fingers and my eyes were fluttering wildly but I held still.

Then it was T’s turn.
And he took it like a champ as well.
Except he really wanted to sneeze.

Now we are waiting.
We were told 2-3 days with today being day 1.
T is really hoping we get them today because he is feeling better and wants to go to bubble soccer tomorrow night with his friend J.
Other than the lingering cough and stuffy nose I feel fine.
Fastest cold I have ever had given that tomorrow I will most likely be 95% or so.
Will let y’all know how it turns out.

My Luck

The other morning T and I were talking.
As we all know because I keep saying it T is a great kid.
No fights at school (that I am aware of).
No bad language other than swearing and I cannot say no do not swear because I have the mouth of an Irish Sailor.
I have always been open with him regarding my use of marijuana.
Gummies I have help incredibly with the twinges I have had in my elbows and left shoulder.
And the actual flower I smoke helps with my anxiety and depression along with my mainstream meds.
All in all I am a pretty lucky mom.
And we talk.
Or rather I nag and badger to ensure he is fine.
Me: How did I ever get so lucky with you?
T: Because you are my mom.
Me ( ruffling his hair): That gets you an extra $10 for allowance. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I really am a lucky woman having such a fine son as T.
Now ask me again at the end of the school year. 😂😂😂😂😂
