Caught between pages
pressed
times forgotten
brittle petals
subtle scent
memories come slipping back
melancholy smile upon thin lips.
Remembering music
floating in the air
dancing couples
embracing in warm summer air.
Held close
musky scent
never forgotten
even after he left.
Caress the fading color
tears trickling down weathered cheeks
wondering
how time had flown so
when only yesterday
my hair flowed
my figure
neat and trim
everyone loved me
just not him.
Deep breath in
smelling lilac
tender smile
eyes close
deep sigh released
now is the time;
I will go.

Oh I love where this took you. Well done Jay. I always save a few petals from bouquets and place them between pages of a book. I love when sometimes many years later they fall out as I look through the book. I enjoy the memories they evoke. ☺️💕
