Trips off the tongue

LOL I had a doozy of a one today.

I went to ask what I should do when I finished with my order. As the store’s grand reopening is this Thursday we are on major cleaning and getting the shelves organized.

Boss: So with the grand opening I want everything pulled forward, the shelves dusted.

Me: So my usual fastidious shelf cleaning?

Boss looking at me strangely: Yes.

I do not know where it came from. And I did not stutter. I did not stumble over the word at all. Fastidious came tripping off the tongue like I use it every day.

Now I wonder did the boss know what I meant or did he have to go google the word after?

              1. I once temporarily forgot what a wheelbarrow was called, but could recall some obscure weird fancy word (forgetting what the word is now lmao) regarding some unusual fact that had no bearing on my life whatsoever!
