And onto the Next Year

Today is 730 days.

Two full years to the day since I quit drinking.

I used alcohol to hide myself and was drinking myself to death when I decided enough was enough.

And now two years later I am so proud of what I have done and who I am becoming. Wanted to brag on myself a bit.

Happy Sunday all.

  1. Congrats ๐ŸŽŠ on this amazing achievement! What advice would you give to anyone suspecting they might have a drinking problem? Would you call someone who say, has a daily beverage, someone who has a problem or not? What about 5-6 drinks a week?

    1. I believe on average a women can have like 3 drinks a week and that is considered in the realm of medically acceptable. My suggestion would be to try and figure out if one is worried: how often are you drinking? Do you get jittery when you pour last drink from bottle and there is no more around? Do you watch the clock until an acceptable time to have your first drink? Are you using it to mask pain? There are more but these were ones that played through my head. And the fact that I ingested enough alcohol over a three day period that could have killed me if I had drank it all at once. That was when I knew I had to quit. ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ’œ

      1. Thank you, those are good answers! Iโ€™m sure each person has to judge for themselves. I definitely have more than three a week on average, but I donโ€™t NEED it. And for me, if itโ€™s about relaxing, CBD works just as well and could substitute. Iโ€™ve just been having some issues with my tummy lately, but I think itโ€™s WHAT Iโ€™m drinking, not how much. These new seltzers are delicious, but I think they are the culprit. Gonna try going without and see if that solves my problem.

        1. That absolutely can be it. Coke use to give me such acidity and I switched to Pepsi. Now I can only have maybe one Pepsi (am working hard to drop that addiction now lol) and not on an empty stomach or I pay for it. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐ŸคฃWe are absolutely old ladies now talking about our stomach issues. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

            1. Never hear of them. Water and coffee for me. I may have an energy drink if the Monster Watermelon is cold in cooler at work. But that tends to make me cranky and itchy lol so it is good a) seasonal and b) I have learned some (read very little) self control ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…

              1. Yeah, thereโ€™s too much negativity surrounding energy drinks, I stay away from those. I get enough from my coffee and Iโ€™m naturally hyper anyway! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ’• Iโ€™ve been trying to get my youngest to quit them for years!
