Human Folly

A giantess
walking across emerald fields
sunshine haloing her head
from loose grip
falls seeds
trees
flowers
shrubs
beneath her toes
land leaps and forms
bass flying through the air
to land
splash
down to earth
in a lake that had just not been there.
She is the fire
burning core.
She is the wind
sweet breeze
spreading far.
She is the earth
tales all told
from her lips
to the ears of all who listen.
She is the calm sea
embracing life
giving it back to the shore.
Her tears bring forth monstrosities
as she screams at humanity’s folly.
Her rage crumbles cities
as she sweeps across the land
eyes ever vigilante.
Her anguish
her pain
resounds
echoing down paths followed by the more sensitive.
What is there we can do?
How to stem this tide?
Washed to sea
blooded dry
oh holy mother
please
please
Lady Earth
Gaia strong
let us repent
before you throw us all to the wolves
as payment
for our abuses.
