Saga of Madness

Acid dipped
colors drip
swirling
combing
unfortunate hues
nauseating
to glance upon
despite the crown’s insistence
that all must bow
dip to curtsey
before the play begins.
Gold
bedecks the statue
balanced upon one leg
forever cast in silver
filigree
rose spider web
blooming out
delicate intricacies
shadow licked
even as
tear drops trail
plink
plink.
Gentle patter of rain
upon dusted floor
while the Mad Queen baths
in moon light’s blood
cackling;
bitter crone.
Back away
slithering with secrets
tip toe down the stairs
spiraling
spiraling
spiraling
ever further into the earth.

Time’s Twisted Tines

Tick Tock
look at the hawk
flying
meandering through the skies.
Tick tock
face of a clock
laid out afore me;
step up
step down
step up
go round and round.
Humpty Dumpty
he sure had a fall
cracked into
a thousand pieces
giggling
one eye
staring up at the sky
his leg
set in motion
as around I stepped his sin.
One hand up
One hand down
time
slooooooooooooooooooooows
melting
fading
blackness
trip along with the crazies.
Tick Tock
hands on the clock
know how to kill me.
