Ah A Short Break

I only worked until 11:30 today. Then I went to Wal-Mart for soil and a few new tanks and a pair of sweats. Went home and changed before heading out to pick up Little T.

Little T is my girl friend V’s daughter. She called me out for missing two birthdays. So today was our afternoon into evening sleepover.

We went to Dollarama first and she picked out a cute little jewel box kinda. Has four little boxes to put things in. Also paints. And paint brushes. Then I found butterflies and well I had to buy two of each. One for me and one for Little T.

We then went to Sobeys and shopped.

Ice cream. Chicken strips. Mozzarella sticks. Veggie straws and Sun chips. We have Ginger Lemonade as well.

I also repotted my lavender. New pot. New soil. A whole bag of it. Gave it a soaking. Fingers crossed it is going to be ok.

July 21/22

Within Reach

Each hurt

each pain

each bitter pill I had to swallow

became a piece of armour

until one day I realized

I was covered

head to toe

silver armour

diamond studded to ensure

that no one can get through

no one can shear past this woven protection

and within

my heart

my soul

my being are kept hidden.

I feel the sun upon my face

arms akimbo

soaking in the natural beauty

feeling it upon my soul.

Unfurling

reaching for the warmth

tears begin to pool

slow to seep

fall over slender cheek

eyes closed

head back

deep breath

taking in cleansing air

exhaling a black cloud of emotion.

Rage.

Fear.

Disgust.

Shame.

Ego.

All the things that would hold me back.

I embrace this time of change.

I embrace this time of looking back

accepting what was.

I embrace this time of now

learning anew who I am.

I embrace this time of looking forward

to seeing my dreams and reaching for them.
