Lessons

Stench of sin
filling ones senses
plying on emotions
dribbling saliva
thick strands
doubles as a rope
keeping you tied to the alter.
Bloated beings
chant around the body….
Your body.
Your sin
Arms tied
feet spread
all watch you squirm
watch tears
hear pleas
ignored
save for their own pleasures.
Sought their help
afraid
demons haunt your dreams
your life
your mind
screaming terrors
claimed you would be cured
you would be saved.
Your Sin.
Your Mind.
Your Body.
Your Time.
Left
burning eyes in the shadows
watch
your head twists side to side
seeking solace
seeking reward
seeking justice.
Smile spreads over your lips
no one notices
ruby rose glow to your cheeks.
Quiet solitude
rent suddenly with screams
terror
dread
discovering that they know nothing
about the beast within your heart.
Learning your truth
learning your desires
bloodbath
tumble to your feet.
Marble streaked crimson
head cocked to the side
watching…..
demons run amok
feeding upon the sins
souls
minds
of those foolish enough
to have thought you could be held
chained
caged
held at their whim.
Lesson taught.
Lesson learned.
Hunt not the wild woman
whose howls can be heard
a shudder down your back
pray not
I come for you.

Assassin

‘Forgive me father
for I have sinned.
It has been
well never
since my last confession.’
I stood within the cavernous opening
rock hewn
trendles of mist reaching out
with flame in hand
knowing I had to enter.
Prone before the crystal altar
his mouth moving
in silent prayer
lay a man dressed in priestly garb
though I knew
a religous man he was not.
Lashed upon the cross on high
a boy
a child
an innocent
being offered up
sacrificed
slaughtered
to appease some broken diety.
My step is light
I silently unsheath my sword
pressing it to my lips
a sign of secrecy
so the boy does not scream.
His last breath hissed free
blood
soaked within the stones beneath him
while I stand over top
a malicious smile on my face.
I am exemplary.
I do my job well.
Assassin down the ages
striking
slaying
the rabid vultures
who prey upon our innocents.
