Battle weary soul
tired 
so so tired
pretending life is good
when blackness pervades
consuming 
devouring 
life as I understand it.
Time has come
to cast off the  blinders
to cast off expectations of others.
Climb that mountain
reach on high
deep breath
release
gone are the bad
in with the good.
Done so well
protected for so long
Paladin of might
Scourge of the black night
hunting
killing
slaying dreaded beasts
before they can release
poison
seeping into body
oozing into pores
consuming…..
No!
Fight
strong
the tide has turned
blackness pushed back
diligent Knight
I thank thee
for all the years
in which you held my life.

Monstered Saviour

Scritchity scratch
claws
drag down the wall
blood oozing
copper stains upon the surface
standing
ready to defeat
ready to scare
ready to…..
Hovering in the shadows
blending
watching
child screams
breaks my heart.
I must materialize
I must free her…..
Parting
misted curtain
seeing
rage increasing
father
meant to protect
abused he did
more than once
her desperate cries…..
silent help…..
I am coming……
I will save you.
In the night
mumbled prayers
not to god
forsaken
anything
nightmare called
bringing me forth
my arms
become a haven.
Late
so late the moon is at the stage
setting into the empty sea
while still
giving light…..
he creeps
evil glint upon his face
reaching out
about to steal her soul when…..
In one moment
time
space
everything
split in two
capturing me
pulling me forth
shadows made real.
Nevermore…..
fear
will not arrive
talons
sharp to shred
driven beneath
rising up on tiptoes
aorta pierced
bleed out
she will survive.
