Prayers Unheard

Tides ebb
tides neap
calling to the dead
calling to the living
messages left by deities
long gone
long vanquished
long aborted
by the modern world.
Do you hear them?
Or….
Are you blind
are you deaf
are you hiding behind the mundane
like everyone else?
Words
warped
twisted
made to feel
if not like the others
there is something wrong
there is something deformed
there is something awry……
It is not me
in reality it is you.
I would wager a guess
you have no idea…..
wilful ignorance
may seem best.
Head in the sand like the ostrich.
Only know…..
being obtuse
afraid to take a stand
lead to the last elimination
of gods
of rich men.
Devastation.
Lands Flooded.
Waterways dried up.
No longer can you look the other way.
Hell on Earth
reality.

A single hard working mom of a soon to be teenage son. A poet and story teller I have wanted to write since I was a child. This space is where I share stories about myself and my life and the creative poetry that stirs my soul. My hope is you will pull up a chair and a cup of coffee delving into the world that I offer and you find simple enjoyment for a few moments. Welcome to The Wonderful & Wacky World of One Single Mom

  1. Although beautifully crafted I find some of the sentiments disturbing. The damage being done to the earth with so little thought for the future is horrific. I admire your poem for addressing sensitive issues that we should really be outraged about. I also like that your work is becoming more diverse, and I sense greater confidence. 🙂 🙂
