Thunder of Wars Waged

Can you hear?
Weeping
chorus sung
boots thump
mothers
screaming pain
fathers
smiling pride
sweethearts
promises broken
brothers
nephews
uncles
men
taken
to wage war
to keep power
in hands
of hungry
mad
old white men
penchant
dining on lies
swilling degradation
with smiles upon their lips
disdain
for generations
upon whose back
their wealth has grown
voices repressed
salient desires
hook
crook
stolen
under public noses
nothing done
til now…..
wake not to blazing skies
drone of planes a high
enemies come
discord beset
all of this
it could have been undone.

A single hard working mom of a soon to be teenage son. A poet and story teller I have wanted to write since I was a child. This space is where I share stories about myself and my life and the creative poetry that stirs my soul. My hope is you will pull up a chair and a cup of coffee delving into the world that I offer and you find simple enjoyment for a few moments. Welcome to The Wonderful & Wacky World of One Single Mom

          1. You often speechlessed me, I just forget to say you speechlessed me! I shall say it more often in future Lil Sis. Your poetry leaves me breathless some days, speechlessed other days, fired up, or overheated on other days! I love your words! ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’–
